Not 100% sure but dosent a plan for this already exist somewhere in the system, seem to remember reading about it some years ago. I dont see how the existing line could stay open without Network Rail infrastructure, as the main reason for moving the line inland is to remove the unsustainable cost of keeping it open. The costs of running it as a private concern wouldnt even be feasable for instance ...
Whats more interesting is what are ordinary people going to do about it. This country is so close to a national rebelion that will make the London riots look like childs play, and the goverment at all levels just keep ignoring it whillst feeding their greedy bellies off the national debt. Did anyone voting for a PCC know they would be able to do this sort of thing?
@leatash . well done hope you get a positive response. here to help anytime
@Nelson . at it again good at giving it out and trying to second guess peoples identities, but cant take it back. Totally confused me with someone on what I understand is a facebook page last week and now continues to have a go at user 4549. Its you the webmaster needs to ban
Would this be the end or new begining for the tourist business in Dawlish and the Warren ? Imagine how the sea front area could be re-developed without the access restrictions placed upon it by the railway. This is going to be a biggy dont know which way local people would vote on this one. Im sure the railway historians would want to keep most of the line open as a working museum, on the ...
@leatash . email - john.halliday@devon.gov.uk neighbourhood highways manager at DCC
See Section 137 of the Highways Act 1980 Appears the land owner could be prosecuted
Would anyone care to have a little wager on it not happening. By the new year they will have thought up another excuse or applied for another ammendment to the agreed plan
Like the way they push the train commuting aspect. In other words Dawlish has no jobs, the buses are useless and the car journey to Exeter is a pain at rush hour. Also the mature landscape has now been destroyed to make room for more houses that local people cant afford and nobody else wants anyway. No mention of any expansion of the over crowded medical and educational facilities. Any idea ...
Thank God the planning committee didnt fall for his little scheme with a 15 to 4 voting majority I dont see how he has grounds to appeal. The land isent even on the Dawlish plan for housing development and has been designated for employment use only. Its Round 2 to Dawlish in reality because his Black Country Properties scheme also failed planning years ago.
