Yeah why bother working when you can get benefits. I'm going to quit my job and get everything handed to me on a plate. Rewarded for doing jack sh!t. What a fool I've been working, paying for EVERYTHING myself, I should've gone on the dole years ago.
Yes, but all sectors have suffered, schools, hospitals, police, mod. I don't see how the cost of the benefit system can continue to rise. The welfare bill needs to be reduced, it's way too big already.
At no point have I ever said or even thought that people who need some help should not get it. I just think instead of cutting hard working people's jobs, perhaps some benefits could be reduced a bit.
I have no problem helping people in need, however I can't stand people that abuse the system. It cannot be fair that MOD personnel or any workers can lose their jobs because the money needs to be used to pay for people that should be working themselves. Are you so naive to think we do not need a strong defence?
People that are long term unemployed, able to work, but won't work, should lose their benefits. Should the very hard working people in the Armed Forces lose their jobs because the money is needed to pay for the lazy?
100% agree with this. Leave our hero Armed Forces be. Stop wasting money on lazy gits! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/politics/4820882/Defecnce-Secretary-demands-welfare-cuts-to-save-troop-numbers-sparking-Cabinet-spending-row.html
Finally the funding of banks and private landlords with tax payers money may be unravelling. Is it now time to start building council houses again? This would not only create jobs but also reduce the horrendous housing benefit bill I'm forced to contribute to, and provide decent housing for people. ...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2279586/Anthony-Eden-Council-defends-sale-home-241-000.html This is unbelievable. Park road Salvation Army springs to mind! Why are councils so useless?
@Lynne , http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financialcrisis/9817511/UK-public-borrowing-rises-in-December-threatening-AAA-rating.html - how much worse would this be under Labour?
@Carer , obviously his case needs to be looked at again, you're always going to be able to find exceptional cases, but on the whole getting people back to work is a great idea. Why should anyone have to support others that are able to work? I realise there are times when you need a little help, perhaps you've been made redundant or your health changes and of course society helps out. ...
