I found this story in the Gazette dated 7th September 2011 very interesting. http://www.dawlishnewspapers.co.uk/news.cfm?id=32853&y=2011&searchword=carnival I wonder what Mr Farley has to say about it NOW, especially that the 'Fair' has literally taken over the Lawn?

Can you tell us exactly what was the chairwomans address? It would be nice to see it on here for all to see. I think the 'Brunny' has been omitted as it has something to do with David Force & his family. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Looks like they (Rowlands) have taken over carnival week courtesy of the Carnival Committee.

A wool shop would be a great idea. Imagine all the young mums in there, discussing what they are going to knit next before they all go home and cook their husband's dinner ready for him when he comes home after a hard days work.

£14k (£269pw) for a job like that? They are really taking the mick, and thats putting it politely.

If anyone saw it, it had a good 'Plug' last night on BBC1's The One Show. The actor, Larry Lamb done an article on Bill Millin and his son John. They showed clips of Bill and the unveiling of the statue in Normandy back in June. Dawlish Museum was mentioned a few times so let's hope it brings in a few more visitors.

What utter twaddle you come out with. Apathy, thats what the cause is. What you describe, has been going on since the beginning of time, not recent and not just Dawlish, but worldwide at any level of politics..

@ Fred. Considering that most of the population of Dawlish cannot be bothered to vote, then they have no right to voice their opinion or complain. They have the right to elect spokespeople by a democratic process but decline their right. I think that answers your question. End of.

@ FredBasset "Therefore neither Dawlish or Teignbridge councils have a 100% right to say what goes on the lawn" Don't the 'People of Dawlish' elect people to speak for them on their behalf? I believe you will find that that is referred to and known as a Council .
