The Lib Dem brown nosing-paper that calls itself the Mid Devon Advertiser conveniently neglects to mention that there was a District Council by-election in Teignmouth West. The position was won by the Liberal Democrats in 2019 and 2023 but the Councillor quit the party, became an Independent and then left the Council entirely triggering a by-election. This was not reported at the time and ...
@1263 You're wrong. The Lib Dem % of the vote in Dawlish was up on 2021 by almost 2%. They only gained 3 more votes compared to 2021. But as turn-out was lower this year their vote share went up.
There's nothing commendable from any party or the electorate when the turnout is a mere 36%. It was worse elsewhere in Teignbridge. Voting should be made mandatory and the option 'None of the Above' added, which should be counted in the official statistics. Apathy is so widespread that nobody seems to care that the First Past the Post system used in England allows the likes of Dawson to win ...
@sarahkhan Politicians should expect to be criticized when they act in such a dictatorial manner. Are you even aware of the full picture? And what name calling? The title is the same as that on the You Tube video? It's a question and a very valid one. Constructive discussion was exactly what Dawson prevents from occurring as Chair of the District Council.
LIb Dem Rosie Dawson who wants to be elected as our County Councillor tomorrow. Here she is as Chair of Teignbridge District Council abusing the people who are asking the questions (members of the public). She's an appalling chair and she is definitely on a power trip.Loves the sound of her own voice. Cllr Rosie Dawson is clearly not cut out for Chairperson. She was selected by ...
@Carer it certainly looks that way. He's deluded if he thinks any of what he wrote in the PRSD justifies his position. If anything it rubs salt in the wound and then pisses all over the wound. I seriously doubt anyone in Devon county Council would ask him to remain, given that's a Conservative run administration. Maybe his own party colleagues the Lib Dems asked him to stay on on ...
Dawlish MP, Devon County Councillor, Teignbridge District Councillor and Businessman Martin Wrigley explains why he held on to so many jobs on the very pro Liberal Democrat People's Republic of South Devon website; From the PRSD Website Lib Dems | MP Martin Wrigley responds to finger pointing ...
@1263 It's on his register of interests https://democracy.teignbridge.gov.uk/mgDeclarationSubmission.aspx?UID=393&HID=182&FID=0&HPID=68306641 When have the Liberal Democrats been concerned about conflicts of interest? And why would they be concerned when our cherished 'democracy' allows a person who is meant to be a public servant to hold four jobs at the same time costing the taxpayer ...
@1263 Yes, I posted the above having read her unapologetic NIMBYism on other threads. Years ago before Martin Wrigley became a Dawlish Town Councillor he attempted to create a break-way parish Council for Cockwood where he lives. That move was likely more about removing the village from proposed development quota for Dawlish and protecting property values in quite an affluent area. The ...
Given that discussion has turned to preventing over-development in the Dawlish area, is everyone aware of the Dawlish Against Over-Development Facebook group? Is it still active in any form? The group states in the About section (see screenshot) that; "We are NOT against the necessary building of new houses within the contraints of Govt housing targets and Teignbridge Council's ...
