@Andysport - unfortunately i couldn't attend the meeting but I'll certainly try and find out more about Dawlish Transition's thoughts on their doing a self-build scheme on this site that has outline p/p for 75 homes. This site by the way was granted p/p with various S106 agreements including that it should provide 30% affordable housing. I thought at the time that 30% of 75/76 dwellings might ...

Yes AndyS I have definitely been posting about the above on here and also chasing TDC. Other posters on this website on earlier threads have also referred to this breach of the S106 agreement.

When they say "adjacent to farmland" I wonder just what farmland they have in mind? Would it be the farmland that is scheduled to have 100s of houses built on it over the next 20 years or so?

This planning application by Shutterton Park Ltd was voted down at today's TDC Planning Committee meeting. 20 voting councillors of which: 15 voted for it to be refused 4 voted that it should be agreed 1 abstained However, I bet SPL are preparing their Appeal even as I type this.

Just been looking online at the BBC Devon News. Some way down its report on the weather it says that " In Dawlish, a row of basement flats near the seafront was also affected." Anyone know where that was?

Pity we can't export the natural asset this country is most renowned for - rain water. Haven't there been droughts in some of the corn growing areas of N. America and Russia of late? They've not had rain water, we've got too much.  Low yield of corn = higher food prices. Just think how good this country's economy might be if only we could export our rain.
