It's been a tough year for the famous black swans at Dawlish - but within days of Storm Dennis washing the breeding pair's eggs and nest away the nine spirited survivors are nest-building again. You should have seen the Brook  at 0300 this morning it was at least 12 to 18 inch higher.

Dawlish is famed for its black swans, but today sad news has been shared that one of them has had its eggs washed away during Storm Dennis. Last May the future of Britain’s most famous black swans were said to be under threat after a string of dog attacks left just one breeding pair. So sad the black swans nest and eggs were washed away.

Its about time they spent the money they already claw off hard working people on the essentials. Instead of large pay packets, pension top ups and expenses and newton abbot town centre.

They are carrying out this years Dawlish patrols on foot to get them out the way for the rest of their years busy schedule of sitting in their car, van, station etc.

@1263 I did wonder when i drove past today and saw 3 police officers talking to people in the Lawn.
