What is it 7p or 7.5p! big difference on 1945 wages.
BOO HOO's Posts
Poor old Dawlish just does not get a break. First it was no more air shows then years of reinforcing the sea wall for the railway because of decades of lack of maintenance by the company and now The Lawn being ripped apart this Summer for poop storage and to boot the motorcycle show that has been such a success the last two years go to Teignmouth ffs.
Oh no not young people getting together and having a good time, how dare they. What a focking country we have turned into, a complete nanny state. Glad I was a kid in the 60's and 70's and could do just what I wanted without government overwatch.
@1263 Well said.
In my opinion all that Stalin Starmer has done is take over the purse strings for the multibillion £ budget the NHS waste every year. I assume so that he can now do the same but with even more vigour. Presumably to bring it to its knees in preparation for privatisation just like he is doing with the economy, again in my opinion.
Have the developers paid back the money that Teignbridge lent them for this bridge saga yet!
COLLINS DEFINITION OF POLICING - the actions of a person or group in authority in order to ensure fairness and legality in an area of public life. Sadly, in my opinion, the days of a police officer actually performing their duties to the public as set forth by the oath they took during their attestation have long since gone. I (name) ...of (address)... do solemnly and sincerely declare and ...
Ukraine and foreign aid plus the cost of hotels, etc for the illegal migrants from France. I suppose you could also add the ppe contract scandal, the failed covid tracker app and the temp hospitals plus the current and future contracts for mRNA vaccines to name just a few eating up tens of billions of hard earned tax payers money. Then you could add HS2, the myriad of carbon zero schemes to siphon ...
£4.9m government grant in other words taxpayers money to fix a problem that should have been resolved at the planning stage rather than after hundreds of homes had already been built!
In my opinion the U.K. Government, and the way they have treated this country and its citizens over the past 5 years or more, can be classified as a domestic terrorist organisation if you use the governments own definition of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2006:- Introduction The Terrorism Act 2006 uses the definition of terrorism contained in the Terrorism Act 2000. Section 34 amends that ...
@expat - most probably the daily evening drug run.
Looking on companies house:- This may be the company that bought the property https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08720546/filing-history Hopefully the property can be brought back to its former glory.

How about a MODEST increase in services to go with the modest increase in payment, cheeky so and so's. How about a few redundancies from the council as most of the services are non existent or gone all together!
It is about time that government officials paid into their pension funds just the same as the private sector workers do and did not get top ups from the tax payers.
How about keep the counter open and reduce the pay of the manager and supervisors instead!
What a refreshing change in this era of the elites of the WEF trying to destabilise and destroy western society to have the citizens of a country actually able to vote a leader into power that will fight these corrupt and duplicitous pieces of scum. I fear it will be sometime before we in the UK can have a leader who will actually put the citizens and the country first over illegal immigrants and ...
How about having a police officer who actually walked a beat around Dawlish and got to know what is actually going on. Rather than wasting time talking to the town councillors who seem rather remote from the issues many people are having in Dawlish, in my opinion.
Popped down to the CO-OP in Dawlish on the 03rd Jan 2025 to pick up some nibbles. Noticed every freezer was empty and the reason was that all the freezers stopped working at the same time. I understand the CO-OP's legal issues over not giving the frozen (or not so frozen) to anyone that wants it, but it still makes me sad how wasteful it was to just throw it all in the skip, and it was a heck of a ...
Got a Tile that has slipped out of place, needs pushing back.
Improve water quality really, they mean improve profit margins and dump more waste into the sea more like.
I do not know if it is just me but for nearly 2 decades I have been able to open my windows for fresh air during the winter time. Although this last couple of years with the installation of several wood burning stoves in houses around me and one next door all I get is a stench from these fires and it gives me a sore throat. Also it stinks the house out as well. Anyone experiencing the same ...
Anyone interested they have one in the charity shop in Dawlish near the co-op for £50. Absolute bargain. Very sturdy tripod from an excellent manufacturee. I would have bought it myself but low on funds at the moment. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/590219-REG/Manfrotto_526_545GBK_526_545GBK_Professional_Video_Tripod.html New they go for about £1,600 ...

Went down to have a look, if it had not been for the big tent on The Lawn I would have thought it was just a normal day! Well done in putting so much effort into the celebrations Yeh.
Or may be ask them if they know where kids are getting it from!
https://airpower.nationalgrid.co.uk/ Operates out of Bristol Airport. s t Under the charge of Accountable Manager Robin Tutcher, the team operates out of a specially constructed hangar and offices at Bristol Airport. Trolls need not comment, thankyou.
Scamdemic in my opinion.
(but not on footpaths/pavements) Well from the number of vehicles that DO park on footpaths and pavements I thought it was legal and ok. learn something new everyday.
I doubt anything will be actioned other than the sea wall request. There are a lot more issue on the social support level that needs addressing, but that won't happenany time soon, if at all. based on the previous 2 decades of slow spiralling decline of the area and economy, in my opinion.
Pics looked better before uploading to the site. Were 5 meg but reduced to less than a meg in size. Still u can make the moth out.
An emphatic NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Truss will say anything to get what SHE wants. If you trust what a politician says then there is no hope for you!
Same old pigs at the trough mentality by the warped sense of worth many in higher management have about themselves even when everything around their little kingdoms is falling apart. Usual over inflated packages for those who parasite of the back of those who can and do. Nothing will change whilst those in power are not as accountable as the level us peaseants are held accountable in our ...
Well done and respect for your hard work picking up the litter. Should get a one off payment from the council for doing their work for them. I for one in Dawlish am less than happy with the ever decreasing services that I am having to pay £2657.91 in rates to Teignbridge Council. I am aware of the breakdown of the rates and who get's what percentage, but where have so many services gone!
lib-dems the biggest in joke in Parliament, experts say, ha,ha.
Gumtree or E-Bay might be a good place to start. Also details of the actual guitars might be handy rather than just saying one was in a yellow case and one was in a black case!
What amazes me more than anything is there was a police car in Dawlish willing to actually stop in the town. A rare occurrence to be sure.
The government wont be happy until every emergency service is placed in a few central hubs with zero satellite support locations and then it will all be auctioned off to private enterprise to the highest bidder, in my opinion. Just look at how the police force in Devon has slowly been taken away from rural locations. Same seems to go for Banking as well.
