PLANS for a new solar array of more than 20 panels atop Dawlish’s town council offices have been approved. Submitted by Dawlish Town Council, the application - reference 26/00302/LBC - sought to obtain Listed Building Consent (LBC) for solar panels on the roof of the Manor House.
Dawlish Discussion
£4.7 million of taxpayers money spent on decarbonisation projects that yielded £47k in savings about 1%. The brook is still a joke, the upheavel in road transport continues and people still vote for this mob.!!!!!
When you said Green makeover, I thought you ment that the council building had become a mosque, due to the majority of Green voters.
The number of tourists that say Dawlish Brook is now a dump is enormous. Another reason on top of the roadworks, overpriced parking, general decay that is driving tourists away. Maybe our useless Lib Dems could rent the islands all along the Brook out.
Let's hope the Manor House does not have the same issue Teignbridge library had with their solar panel installation.
Cannot find any where the cost/savings of this new project of Dawlish Council. Should the people of Dawlish be advised of the total cost of this installation/servicing and upkeep relative to the initial outlay.
In my opinion the relative electricity obtained from the solar panels will be low compared to the actual cost of the installation. One reason for the solar panels was that electricity supply could be maintained during bad weather when the overhead electricity supple cables experienced black outs. Well unless they are going to install large and expensive backup batteries just having solar panels will not help that much in that scenario.
Again in my opinion a new bridge over the Brook to replace the old and the Brook cleared out would have been money better spent than this Net Zero folly.
