We've wasted over four years trying to negotiate with someone who doesn't really want to negotiate. We should've walked in 2016.

It's irrelevant, what matters is the outcome of the negotiations over the next four days. but as the EU has today hit the panic button to start contingency plans for no agreement being reached, that looks the likely conclusion.
