So, the message is, there's no need for anyone to get their knickers in a twist because there is still an opportunity for consultation. If anyone feels strongly they should submit their opinions to TDC, and if they don't they shouldn't grumble at the outcome. Can't say fairer than that.
Thanks for such a fastidious post Carer, and so early in the morning too. Did you wet the bed?
You make a good point. I first started coming to Dawlish shortly before the fire at Dawlish Warren. I don't doubt they were 'rundown shacks' but I remember being struck by how anodyne and characterless the replacement shop was and still is. Basketball area, seriously? Because that's what the council thinks the kids are crying out for? Get with the programme grandpa! It'll be an unused slab of tarmac within weeks.
No, windows and doors!
Interesting comments. I've aways used locals, some good, some average. I had a big job recently. The local supplier/installer was based in Newton Abbot and for two weeks he promised to come out and price it up but didn't. In the end I went to the main supplier who pointed me further afield to a highly rated competitor, a Romanian. I'd have no concerns if he lived next door to me, he was a ...
