It is illegal to ride on the pavement if only the police would enforce it (see previous 'Police???).

Don't forget the new Thorntons in town. I understand the dentist's practice out at Shutterton could do with a few more customers anyway.

He lives in Littleweek Road.......... apparently.

Liam Tasker and his dog Theo were brought home today from Afghanistan. This war is not worth one life, whether human or animal.

The town has definitely gone down hill since the demise of Woolworth's. As Lynne quite rightly said, it drew people into the centre of town and once there, they visited the smaller shops as well. The occasional vandalism that we get doesn't help. Policing should be tightened up, especially at night. I'm afraid there really is no substitute for the bobby on the beat!

Actually Sainsbury's do have a clothing range, which will be very welcome if stocked. It's a disgrace that a town the size of Dawlish with 13,000+ inhabitants has nowhere that sells childrens' or womens' clothes. Doesn't have to be high fashion; just basic everyday items of clothing would be very acceptable.

I see from the Gazette that despite only being built in 2002, the conservatory at the Manor House is now rotting away & needs replacing at a cost of about £11,000 (or more). We council tax payers really got good value from whoever had the building contract on that one, didn't we!

I too thought the previous owners (who shall be nameless) had planning permission for flats. Surely this should still be current?
