So we cannot have a Lloyds Bank in Dawlish but we can have the token cycle race that is 1km long, uhm.
BOO HOO's Posts
You mean what is left of The Lawn at the present moment.
Being British does not mean you are necessarily English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish. Counter Terrorism Policing is now leading the investigation into the murder of former MP Ann Widdecombe , who was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on July 9, 2026 . Police believe she was killed in a targeted attack around 12 :30 pm on the previous day, sustaining serious injuries before her body was ...
Better make sure none of the animals are facing the terrace houses opposite or they will start complaining that they are intimidated by the animals staring at their houses, like last time ha ha ha
I pay over £3k a year in rates and see fock all benefits from that large amount of money other than my bins emptied and the street lights on until around 1am when they get switched off and the street is in total darkness until the morning. Government and councils are no longer fit for purpose, they think they are above the rate payers and instead of them being there to serve us they think we are ...
Walked past the estate car yesterday and spoke to a chap from the allotment's who said a 10 to 12 year old looking male youth doused the car in petrol from a can he had and set it alight and then walked off. Supposedly he was followed and the chap believes the little yob was identified, so he says. Obviously pure speculation at this stage. Although Dawlish does seem to attract young arsonist's ...
Dear God it was a bad enough disruption for Dawlish last time it was on, it would be nice if Dawlish council actually asked the people of Dawlish if they wanted it to take place or not!!!!!! just a suggestion.
Unconfirmed reports, well it most probably would not have been the person who fell over board reporting it, so who did?
Nice to see Dawlish Council asked the Dawlish people if they wanted it or not, what was that.......OH THEY DID NOT!!!!!!!!!
And there was an upgrade on the system a while back that cost a pretty penny as well. The exact installation date for the Dawlish High Street (The Strand) CCTV system is not specified in the available records, but the network was described as being 8 or 10 years old and needing a full overhaul as of May 2017 . This timeline suggests the original system was likely installed in the mid-2000s . The ...
Voting whether it be local or national these days has reached an all time level of apathy. In my opinion it is down to those that have been voted in by the voters seem to think when they get in they can just give the finger to the voters and do as they/party wish them to do.
Dawlish housholder lights stinking bonfire on hottest day of the year, what an Einstien.
@1263 Indeed, pigs to the trough, comes to mind.
The Entitlement Mindset • Persistent Exclusivity: Research, such as the Sutton Trust's Elitist Britain project, highlights that top roles in politics, business, and media remain disproportionately occupied by privately educated individuals. • Unwritten Codes: The British elite frequently relies on subtext, etiquette, and established social networks to signal "who belongs". Insiders often view ...
Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zugzwang : A term from chess describing a situation where one must make a move but any move will incur harm or worsen the position OR 'THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA', COME TO MIND.
Whether holding the dual roles of Mayor of Dawlish and Co-Chief of Staff to the local MP constitutes a conflict of interest depends on the specific duties performed and the matters brought before the council. Legal and Ethical Framework • Declaration is Key : Under the Localism Act 2011 and the Nolan Principles , holding two such roles is not automatically illegal. The primary requirement is the ...
Uhm, think I will give that a miss...got better things to do than listen to empty words.
White Ford Transit....say no more.
Net zero madness will be the death of all of us, in my opinion.
If they actually did the opposite of what they have been doing for years Dawlish would still be the little seaside gem it use to be rather than the smelly crapper it has been turned into by them, in my opinion. And they had the nerve to increase the rates to 12 percent cheeky c@@@@.
@Carer...so true. Last few generations of breeders have produced a lot of feral's with the assistance of zero discipline in schools thanks to our glorious successive governments and now we are importing them from France as well on the tax payer's dime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF5khVkYxtQ&list=LL&index=14
Shame the old bill cannot show as much effort to stop actual crimes, in my opinion.
I actually just took £20 in cash with me to the hospital, no cards at all for the reason they might go astray. When I go out the only time the card comes out of its anti rfid wallet is to tap and pay. Skimmer seems the most obvious and had to have been in Dawlish I believe. The only places I have shopped is Co op and cost cutters! Thanks for the input.
Images of the days when a Bobby preserved the peace and acted without bias, well most of the time. Sadly those days are long over with our imported and culturally enriching, diverse extended communities, in my opinion.
@1263 whole heartedly agree. I think the Lib dems political history speaks volumes and is a clear indicator of when the main political groups end up trying it onto hard to annoy the electorate in come the Court Jester's. Court Jester noun • A person in bright garb and fool's cap who served as amusement in a mediaeval royal court . Although I think my profile picture would make a great Lib Dem ...
Why not call it the VW camper/beetle show with may be a few old Porsche's thrown in rather than an ambigous title most will not understand? Yes I am a bit crabby today after spending 4 days in hospital after my body decided to eject a third of its blood supply ha ha ha.
Shame these councils cannot put a little effort into making the towns better rather than running them into the ground and charging us through the nose via our rates, in my opinion. Criterion 10. The beach must comply with the Blue Flag requirements for the microbiological parameter Escherichia coli (faecal coli bacteria) and intestinal enterococci (streptococci). The microbiological parameters to ...
Dawlish council have been gagging for years for an excuse to take down all the big trees on either side of The Lawn, in my opinion. I do not think they will be happy until the whole of The Lawn is tarmacced over and looks like a car park.
@1263 Liebour are so far up their own blackhole they think every thing they do is wonderful just like the Greenies until it comes back and bites them in the blackhole then they change it to suit themselves, in my opinion.
The Liberal Democrats have admitted to breaching human rights and unlawfully discriminating against former parliamentary candidate David Campanale for his Christian beliefs. Campanale, a former BBC journalist, was selected as the candidate for Sutton and Cheam in 2022 but was deselected in 2023 following a campaign by local party members who opposed his traditional views on issues such as ...
Let's hope the Manor House does not have the same issue Teignbridge library had with their solar panel installation. Cannot find any where the cost/savings of this new project of Dawlish Council. Should the people of Dawlish be advised of the total cost of this installation/servicing and upkeep relative to the initial outlay. In my opinion the relative electricity obtained from the solar panels ...
Cannot find the official details for this for 2026 only 2024/2025 so what items are included and what are excluded from this service taking place on the 09 May 2026?
@1263 That would be over stepping their authority and require some form of common sense that they seem to lack these days, in my opinion.
