@ Michael Thanks for that info. Just one question though, when you say that the wall is the responsibility of the householders above, do you mean the owners of Cliff Court? If so, I am amazed that the road above the wall and the wall itself haven't been adopted by the Council when the houses were built, which wasn't that long ago, as it abuts the main highway. If I were living there, which ...
The contractors really messed up yesterday & today. You couldn't get from one side of the Lawn to the other so therefore all the visitors were walking up one side, missing the main shops on the Strand & not bothering to get up to the bowling green to cross over. According to Jen in the sweet shop, a lot of trade was missed so what do the council have to say about that?
@Brazilnut You're right about Dawlish being a no-go area. Had relatives from Cumbria staying over the weekend. It took them proportionately longer to get out of Dawlish than it took to get up the M5 & M6 to their home.
If there were any, would we know about them?
Can't believe it. How can this be justified by TDC?
@kenny Thanks for that info. There is a consultation form you can fill in if you have any strong feelings about the traffic situation through Kenton. Think this is probably one for the residents, however, as they seem to have been experiencing problems due to the very narrow road without a pavement through the Southtown part of the village. @Lynne Have never heard of a wall being ...
Also lights at Kenton, came through there twice today - not a sign of any work going on.
All of the above were great; warm temperatures as well might have been nice.
@Brooklyn Bridge Yes, very upsetting. She has been such a patient mother & done all she can for her future offspring. Puts some of the human kind to shame doesn't it. Still, it is good to know that some people have cared enough to keep an eye on her. Wish it had been a happier outcome.
I walked down the Strand both yesterday and today and it's interesting that with the wind coming off the sea the wind chill factor for pedestrians seems to have risen now shrubbery, trees and wall have been removed. It's pretty bleak now for people wanting to browse the shops or even for the famous cafe society which they're trying to promote in the town.
