A MAN has been sentenced following a violent attack at a charity fundraiser in Dawlish. The attack which left a victim needing life-changing surgery saw Daniel Smith pleading guilty to wounding.

Resilience work on the cliffs between Dawlish and Holcombe to help protect the vital South West main line rail link has now been successfully completed. Work on the cliff resilience scheme began in July 2023 and saw Network Rail install a series of protection measures to catch any loose material and stop it from falling onto the railway below.

A man has been sentenced following a violent attack at a charity fundraiser that left a victim needing life-changing surgery. Daniel Smith, 32, from Second Avenue in Dawlish , appeared at Exeter Crown Court on Friday 20 December for sentencing having pleaded guilty to section 20 wounding.

Well done to all involved especially Paul Lentle, a great guy.

ALMOST 100 people sat down to enjoy lunch together at the Strand Centre in Dawlish. Organised every year, the festive feast of traditional turkey is provided for people in the town who would otherwise be on their own for Christmas.
