Tesco bought it's first One Stop Stores in 2003. I don't think One Stop was one group, I think they might have been independents operating as a group as Tesco aquired another 77 One Stop stores only last year, these were owned by the MIlls Group but didn't operate under the One Stop name. These are being converted to One Stop branding by Tesco as Tesco are aware that they do not have a good image ...

You can't judge a business by a 'snapshot' at one time, have just got home from Sainsburys, 20:30, and there were queues at every checkout, many prices, especially veg are up to half the price of anywhere in Dawlish. But some things are dearer, forget prices, if a person can go to one shop, park outside for free and get everything they need, then that's where they will shop. Many people only look ...

Yep, I don't have exact details but have been told that staff hours are being increased, so hopefully more staff at peak times. I have always found the Staff there to be very helpful and freindly no matter how busy they are, I certainly wouldn't like to put up with some of the people I have listened to while waiting in the queue there.

Dawlish is having a VERY quiet year financially, just take the trouble to ask local traders. Most local holidaymakers stay in Dawlish Warren so they now shop at Sainsburys. Local 'oldies' not changing their habits!!!!!!!, I know 2 OAPs with cars who now collect neighbours, who used to shop at Co-op, and take them to Sainsburys. Guess where people who work in Exeter shop on their way home. I am ...

Ooops, sorry. I did 'flock back' to the Co-op this morning for some bargain veg as they are selling a load at half price so much cheaper than Sainsburys. But was reliably informed by the Co-op staff that the sell-off was not to compete but that the veg was close to its sell by date as recent sales (since last Wednesday strangely enough) had been very poor. Just think of the bargains that will be ...

I had to laugh at those comments about Sainsburys. This is the classic textbook business managment scene when a new store opens, Mcdonalds, KFC, Tesco, Sainsburys etc. all go through this 'opening' phase. There is no team as most people are newly trained and inexperienced, the people who don't fit in as team players leave very quickly, often after a few days, much to the relief of the managers ...

SAINSBURYS DAWLISH

All I can tell you is I know someone who has a job there and her application was done online, she was told that was the only way to apply so you might care to go to their website and see what you can find or contact them via the site. I do know that references sought by Sainsburys for potential employess had to be sent to Sainsburys HR centre in Manchester, they supplied a prepaid envelope with ...

Sainsburys have done an amazing job with the space, spacious aisles and a good range of products in addition to food and a decent size carpark. There will always be people who want more clothing, some people who want more fesh food, some people will complain there should be more fish and some people just like to complain, you will please some of the people all of the time and ....etc etc They ...

You're quite right 'wondering', Sainsburys will do very well, it isn't a Dawlish store, people I know from Bishopsteignton to Exminster are looking forward to going to a Sainsburys without travelling to Exeter or Torquay, it will draw a lot of customers from the whole area. Being able to go to a major supermarket without the traffic of Torquay or Exeter is the major attraction of this new ...

I shop locally almost every day and haven't spoken to anyone who isn't looking forward to having a local Sainsburys, long overdue. I also know several people who are very happy to have a local job again, especially students who find it almost impossible to get any local part-time jobs other than seasonal work. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, let's just wait and see how busy they are, ...
