I know I'm way behind on this subject of the Bandstand and future development on the Lawn (its now October 2016!!!) but I just thought I'd let you know on Dawlish.com  that my maternal Grandfather, Doctor Charles Newton Lovely (who had much connection with Dawlish in his day) would probably turn in his grave at the thought of the Bandstand, which he was instrumental (no pun intended) in gaining ...

Well those 'raised speed ramps' on The Strand were as effective at slowing vehicles as most things that happen round here these days. Loads of money for nothing. I don't think you could even trip over them they are so ineffective.

Just a few pics of the sea weed build up at Coryton Cove seen on the 8th Oct. Some of the piles were over 4 feet high.

Never seen a trout as big as this in the Brook in the last decade or so. It had to be a good foot + in length. Puts the fish they sell at the farmer's market to shame.
