FUNDING has been secured to create and oral history and community celebration about Dancing in Dawlish. Memories of dancing in the heyday of the 1940s to 1960s seaside music scene are the focus of the new oral history project and community event that has been launched with government funding to the tune of £14,730 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

THE £42million project to build a shelter to protect the main rail line between Dawlish and Teignmouth has won another award. The Parsons Tunnel Rockfall Shelter scheme won the title of best new build project over £10million at the Institution of Civil Engineering South West awards 2024.

A DAWLISH primary school has welcomed a new head teacher who is leading the way to make improvements. Natasha Outhwaite has taken up the helm at Westliff School with the aim of improving the school’s culture and inspiring learning following an Ofsted inspection which said it needed improvement.

POLICE in Teignmouth and Dawlish have released details of what they described as a ‘busy’ weekend. Friday last week saw officers in Dawlish investigating reports of anti-social behaviour in the town.
