Dawlish News

Members of Teignbridge District Council have had a negative impact on many residents for years. They ignore residents, force decisions upon them with sham consultations and silence and smear opposition voices. As if they give actual f*** about local residents. They're just expected to issue a statement whenever there's a tragic death.

Urgently install a sign prohibiting mobility scooters and warning that doing a U-turn is not advisable or feasible once on the wall. Cycling is already prohibited, unfortunately access for all and inclusivity isn't always possible.

Given the obesity pandemic more people will likely come to depend on mobility scooters as their health deteriorates and the crisis worsens.

The report in the mid Devon Advertiser is incorrect. Wrigley's Lib Dem run TDC were charging around £1800 not the £1000 as reported. I went into the Cancer Screening Unit today at Sainsbury's carpark and asked. The NHS worker also explained that is for a 10 week period, which is pretty extortionate.

This Council is a disgrace. Lib Dem and Council Leader Wrigley got found out and is back-tracking. The buck stops with him, yet he passes the blame, he shows no real leadership. He's just worried how this'll damage his chances of becoming our next MP - putting the Council's revenue streams ahead of Cancer patients, says it all. And if it's an old policy, then it just shows he's incomptent, his ...

@1263 It's officially the run in to the General election on July 4th, so the Lib Dem Cllrs and their supporters are usually more than happy to give up their time and do the odd litter pick. Oh hang on, that's just for photo opportunities in the press and on their social media, posing as community spirited and 'green'. If you've ever seen them picking litter or painting graffiti'd walls you ...

@1263 Officers are Council staff employed in the various departments from waste and recycling, to housing, electoral services, etc, as opposed to elected members (Councillors). Officers do not make unilateral decions, they are accountable to senior staff and Cllrs on the Committe that relates to their specific department. Under Wrigley much decision making has been taken away from Officers, ...

@1263 The was the case in the past. however under the Lib Dem/Tory coalition of the previous administration in Teignbridge District Council (of which Wrigley was in the Executive) they passed a motion whereby it's now only a conflict of interest if it involves your spouse. Pretty dodgy hey? You can request to see the constitutiion which it seems the Lib Dems change at will as it suits their ...

@1263 Wrigley is still the Leader of Teignbridge District Council and Teignbridge Lib Dems. That hasn't changed, they just elect a new chair and vice chair of the Council each year in May. Wrigley wouldn't cede any power he's too much of a control freak. So far he's doing a great job of ensuring he won't win the General election. He's too stupid to realize that if you want to get elected in a ...

@1263 Ziggy reads these posts so you can be sure Dawson will be aware. The petition wasn't really ever about getting a response from her own party and Council about the bridge. It was an opportunity to appear on the side of local people. The Lib Dems keep an eye open for where they might be able to gain public support and then climb aboard whatever campaign or issue is concerning local people ...
