A blue Fiat Punto which failed to stop for a routine check in the Mamhead area was chased by police. The authorised chase ended in Barton Terrace, Dawlish, where a 20-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail until December 9th. A quantity of herbal cannabis was allegedly found on a 15-year-old girl passenger.

A Dawlish man and two boys from Teignmouth age 16 and 17 have appeared in court accused of 'physically and mentally' torturing a cat. It is alleged the one-year-old cat was put in a microwave oven, tumble dryer and freezer. The case was adjourned until October 8th. The cat is being cared for by the RSPCA.
Over 100 revellers attended an all-night party last Saturday at Easton Plantation off Orchard Lane Dawlish. A group of local youths around five or six in number have been using the sand dunes at Dawlish Warren as drinking dens and vandalising the area by ripping up wooden fencing installed to protect the local nature reserve and using it to fuel their fires.
