One of the three surviving black swan cygnets has been found dead near the boating lake. The female cygnet is believed to have been killed by a dog. Anyone found guilty of not keeping their dog under control is liable to a fine of up to £5,000 and the dog can be seized. Dawlish Ladies Hockey Club is one of Dawlish's oldest sports set ups and is in danger of closing after almost 60 years. The club is appealing for new members and meets for training sessions every Tuesday evening between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at the all weather pitch at Sandy Lane.
