One of the three surviving black swan cygnets has been found dead near the boating lake.
The female cygnet is believed to have been killed by a dog. Anyone found guilty of not keeping their dog under control is liable to a fine of up to £5,000 and the dog can be seized.
The police will be looking through CCTV footage in the area to see if anything was caught on camera.

If the Police check the CCTV at night they wont see a thing, unless the cruel action took place under a street light.
A dog that can do this should be confiscated as it is obviously out of control and is a danger to people as well as wildfowl. The owner of the dog as well as not having any brain cells is not in possession of £5,000 and so a fine is a pointless exercise. Best to raise a reward in the hope that his/her mates grass him/her up as the dog would have blood on it and someone will have a good idea whose dog it is.
