OK ex townie lives on Warren read thread A) Do not subscribe to any political party B) As previously said fully intended to stand as an independant, but got offered a contract out of town which pays decent money and therefore could not commit the time to stand as most council meets are on Tues/Weds at 7.00pm and would not be around. C) At least 2 independants standing and known to me have been ...

Please don't confuse a plain old country bumpkin who hates supermarkets and city life for some mad tree hugging eco warrior. Take it gas guzzler man refers to my username. Its true I like the rural lifestyle out of town Dawlish has to offer and really don't want to see that change, but I also own more than one 4x4 plus maybe one or two other big engined vehicles. Their fuel consumption isn't an ...

Thank you for your clarification Lynne. I agree with you about the chances of the new independents forcing out the old school being something to look forward to. However I do know one or two of them and have doubts regarding their abilities and time commitments in order to be effective councilors. If I remember correctly at the time our local council where asked to vote on the planning ...

Wasn't me who said you had been away - follow the thread. Why can you never stick to the subject of the thread. Do you want to see grass verges, hedgerow and wild life or do you want the entire town covered in F-ing concrete. I have no interest in politics and personally cannot stand the back stabbing self interested councilors who think they are above the rest of us instead of appreciating the ...

Your right there Smokey back to putting a political twist on every topic. Sorry Lynne but you know exactly what I'm on about. If you look at it carefully one a the most influential newcomers is actually the supermarket company causing the issue. The town council only voted for it on the usual off chance that there might have been something in it for themselves. Under the new local planning system ...

We seem to be straying off track and missing the point here, Its not about for or against cycle paths. Its about destroying grass verges, hedgerows and wild life habitats and replacing it with a concrete path which goes from nowhere special to their store. Nobody is going to cycle up Exeter Road with bags of shopping especially in the rain, and in the Winter nobody will use it at all. Once again ...

Grass, hedgerow, trees, and home to wild animals dont matter in your book then DawlishBlue whats wrong with riding your cycle on the road then. Wait till they concrete the beach you'll be able to ride along there as well. Purpose built cycle paths are a joke and a waste of money, look what happened at Powderham.

Is anyone out there interested in stopping Sainsbury's destroying even more hedgerow, grass verge and trees. They seem to believe they have planning permission to install a new cycle way and footpath from their store upto Week Lane and intend to start work on that soon. Please object by ringing 0800 1303 270 freephone number

Agree with your point Steve, with insurance companies kicking up such a fuss about properties in flood risk areas, how can any planning authority, builder or house buyer ever consider a property in an area like Dawlish Warren. It should not be allowed and flooding is only one reason. For years the area has been earmarked as holiday accommodation only with huge restrictions on the number of ...

Two healthy Dobermans usually work for me when we have cold callers. Indirectly they all work for BT anyway. No one else has the lines and exchanges network apart from the cable companies and they are only small fry by comparison.
