1) The people are hideous 2) The people are hideous 3) The people are hideous 4) Everything is hideous (and so are the people) If you have children in particular, do not routinely take them to Dawlish in case they should think what they see is in any way normal. Dawlish is an aberration that repels nice people, and attracts lower forms of life like slugs to a lettuce. Oh hideous people of ...

What a brilliant user name! If it helps, you're not alone - far from it in fact. It was depressing when a second tattoo shop appeared. What hope has this town got? Destined to be dominated by chavs forever it seems. The whole town is a real enclave for misfits, undesirables and lost causes - not that they would know it. Those who do know it sadly cannot face the town and just (quite wisely) go ...

I'm getting quite good at identifying who is likely to get off the train when it arrives at Dawlish. Best clues are those with a can of Stella in one (or both hands), those given to shouting (with a limited and typical sub-human vocabulary), and those with a generally unsavoury demeanour. The walk home past almost empty pubs (cant imagine why) is often only interrupted by the odd raucous crowd of ...

A truly ghastly prospect. For those in need of some support, I have developed a game to make necessary visits to the town more bearable. I call it 'Spot the non Chav!'. You'll have hours of endless fun, ...

What a grim little town Dawlish is. So grim in fact that half its residents seldom if ever venture to the town at all (so hideous is the experience). High time 'the tourism makes millions myth' is dispelled. It clearly has done nothing for this town other than line the pockets of a few selected individuals, whilst the town has been degenerated into a backward looking, shabby chav enclave. ...

You could well say the same for Dawlish which seems completely trapped in a time warp. It is quite shocking to travel just 20mins from Exeter and find yourself stepping back 30 years. It is not quaint, its just tat. Most shops and pubs awful, and have you seen the 'restaurants'! Its a great shame as the town should have so much potential. The town is run by those with a vested interest in tourism ...
