I'm getting quite good at identifying who is likely to get off the train when it arrives at Dawlish. Best clues are those with a can of Stella in one (or both hands), those given to shouting (with a limited and typical sub-human vocabulary), and those with a generally unsavoury demeanour.
The walk home past almost empty pubs (cant imagine why) is often only interrupted by the odd raucous crowd of inebraited oiks, stumbling around looking for their next Stella.
A far cry from say Totnes, where nice people go out to nice places which are busy throughout the week. Ho hum.
When I and my family moved to Dawlish last year, the first thing we found was how pleasant most people were and how clean Dawlish is we love it here.
But it bothers me about the drugs/alcohol I thought we left that behind, we have also found the local youths polite and non aggressive.
I do admit we dont live on the strand so we dont see it, trouble is were ever you go you have that problem.
I have lived in this hovel the whole of my life. It is definitely getting worse. The chav and drug culture makes me sick.
People in Dawlish need to appreciate that there is life outside of Devon. This is one of the most closed-minded, racist and homophobic places I have ever visited.
Sort it out, FOOOOLS!
It's not that easy! If it was, nobody would live in Dawlish!
People are Dawlish through and through. We no longer live in the 50s and apartheid no longer exists so what's with all the closed-mindedness?!
Totnes is quite nice at this time of year, I believe.

Hahaha, Totnes is nice ALL year round. This dump is either desolate in the Winter or full of grockles in the Summer.Joy...
