Are we supposed to assume that all landowners are super-rich tax evaders?  Not quite sure of the point of posting that DM article.

Our forefathers didn't know the luxury of the welfare state, it certainly didn't exist when my parents were born, what rubbish you talk at times.  Your language is like something out of a 1960s Labour Party conference, those times have gone, get used to it.

When I looked into signing up to one of these price-freeze deals some time ago I noticed the tariff was higher than the normal price, so a future price increase was being built in upfront.  These power companies are not stupid.

I doubt the Red Flag brigade will see power in this country any time soon, the electorate have more sense.

Governments have to shoulder a lot of the blame too, spending money (they haven't got) like it's going out of fashion, and then we all have to pick up the pieces living with austerity budgets across the board for all public services.

Would it not benefit the country and communties more by re-opening some of the lines which were closed by Beeching in the 60s, rather than by spending £40bn+ on an exclusive line that will charge sky-high premium fares (as HS1 does), which only the better off will be able to afford?

I see that this year Rowland's fair has now taken over the area between the bandstand and the bowling green, this land has    usually been kept free for the use of families and people wanting to picnic.  It was a sad sight today to see a family trying to picnic amidst the hustle and bustle of the fairground rides.  I wonder who sanctioned the use of this part of the lawn for the fair?

And then we have the EU parliament gravy train and all its associated posts. Is it any wonder we are bled dry with taxation.
