It depends on the final design whether there will be any surprises, or not.  Too often consultations are just window dressing to disguise the fact that the decisions have already been taken behind closed doors.

Last time I had fish at MP it was like it had come out of a frozen catering pack, not at all appetising.  Smugglers is a much better bet.

@Lynne I can only assume you got a good deal on the ticket price from Southwest Trains to travel into Waterloo, you can knock an hour off the journey time by going to Paddington instead.

Something I've read on another site: What does the law say about cat fouling? There are no laws regarding cats and fouling. @Lynne I would say the answer to all your questions is Yes. @leatash I would assume that NR spend what it thinks is necessary to maintain the wall.  This winter's storms have been exceptional by anyone's standards, whole swathes of the country have been devastated, Dawlish isn't alone in that respect, I don't think NR could have reasonably foreseen the extent of the damage we have ...

Well, "they" haven't let Dawlish fall into the sea yet.  Quite the reverse.  Has the massive amount of money and manpower pumped into the town's sea defences over the last few weeks passed you by?

Coastal defences are generally the responsibility of the Environment Agency, or as we know in the case of the sea wall, Network Rail (mainly taxpayer funded).  The government will stump up the funds for flood defence and add it to our £1trillion+ debt.

Isn't the leisure centre on TDC's list of assets it wants to be rid of?  If it does go private I imagine there will be a few changes.

@Mcjrpc As the railway clearly offends you so much, where would you like it to be relocated, and who will pay for that?  I have just looked at a photo from 1895 and the railway looks pretty much as it does now, maybe it's the beach that has changed.
