New Years Day

What a lovely day to start 2013. Just been for a nice walk along the cliff path to the Warren, lots of people around most looking happy and passing the time of day. We are so lucky to live in such a lovely place. Long may it last.

On Thursday between 0730 and 1920 the metal grill above the toilets was damaged. The toilets will be closed until repairs are carried out. Any information on this crime call 101 or call into Dawlish Neighbourhood Office on Wednesday. Crime Reference Number JG/12/2244

@HuwMatthews2 and duckileaks. I see where your coming from, but if you want to sell you have to make things look inviting. e.g if you want to sell your car would you not clean it first.

@Brazilnut I totally agree with you. Teignmouth put their decorations and lights up long before Dawlish, but then again they did have a lot more to put up!

I thought the shops would have made more effort this year, perhaps their waiting for 2013 when the regeneration has been done, but that maybe too late. You only have to watch the local news and see other small towns show how it should be done.

What's happened! The lights in the Strand and the lights over the brook seem to have given up. The shops in the main centre have made less effort than normal, not a Christmas tree in sight if your driving through. Congratulations to the top end of the town who have put the Strand traders to shame.
