Elvis, I do wonder sometimes what people think a good rate of pay is. Local trades seem to be £160-170 a day or £27-£30 an hour When I try and get £27 an hour for myself and my equipment i do struggle. I cut the grass for someone using their £50 mower and their fuel, it takes 3 1/2 hours, my mower would take less than an hour, it costs them more, I just can't figure some folk out.
The under mattress account still has a branch in every town.

I have been in the shop a couple of times we bought a open fire kettle from there and some books, I think I met here and I had heard about her brother I didn't know her name nor had I heard about any of the work/help she has done = that seems a shame.
Well I hadn't heard of her sorry I have heard of snooky trust Question if snooky trust takes £23,486 in shop takings & donations last year but spends £18,136 doing so does that mean the £5,000 goes to helping people or only a proportion of it ? Roofer = Lee Manning Dawlish Warren has a good name in the area, seems like a nice guy, I've not used him roofing I'd do myself. Devon is cheaper for roofing than the Midlands at £20 a sq metre based on 30 sq metres.
My experience of local so called trades people so far has been very poor, I now personally bring all our required trades in from the Midlands except a gas engineer he's from Torquay. I know a builder who has been recommeded but I haven't used him. To be honest I use trades people every month have done for 20 years only ever been asked a dozen times for a recommendation. I had a look at checkatrade funny thing is I didn't find any dawlish businesses, does this mean they are all c ap and untrustworthy ?
On this forum there is a services section a neighbour of ours has a post on there for over a year now, though with out a single call, he has placed ads at £5 a week on gumtree without a single call, he asked me how he could obtain more work I gave my 2p worth What do you think ? Household service
