Because they are illuminated and we are not required to try and read writing which is too small to see.
Likeablerat you are not wrong but the whole point of having a councillor who is a retired architect on the town centre working group, I was told, was to ensure we got things like this right. Clearly we got them wrong! Torquay and Paignton got them right so where did we go wrong?
Pathetic!! Is that the best you can come up with?
Dorian, I can only speak for those who have mentioned them to me and that is a lot of people in Dawlish. I don't speak for you if you have not passed comment to me.
Just for the record, I would like to state that I was not a member of the Dawlish Town Centre working group that agreed the size of the banners attached to the lamposts. This group was wholly responsible for the design of the lamposts, which I think are attractive and in keeping with the architecture of Dawlish, and the design of the lamp fittings for hanging baskets and banners. I was part of a ...
Likeablerat, I am not backing away at all and, believe me, I do not do discrete when it comes to matters like this and of such importance to Dawlish. The fact is that TDC hold the purse strings so by being on the Town Centre Working Group I can have some influence on how the money is spent. However, I do share your scepticism as at the meeting last week, when I was successfully voted onto the ...
Likeablerat, my first option was to have a dedicated new group to focus on the lawn developments made up of equal numbers of residents, traders and Councilors but, as I said previously, this option was not supported by enough of the other Councillors. Some said that we had to give the Town Centre Working Group time to take forward the ideas for the lawn and most Councillors agreed with that ...
We all know the intention of your comment regarding the apostrophe; you are the one who needs to let it lie but apparently can't.
Apostrophes! No need for such a comment in what had been a celebration of a great two days for Dawlish. Only you could do that! And why do you assume that because someone is posting at 22.55 that they have been drinking, do you base this assumption on your own behaviour?
Why is it that only Mrs C has to insert a nasty comment? The other posts were a pleasure to read and I agree, what a fantastic day it has been for Dawlish and one we should all be proud to be part of.
