Have a great day everyone, and how pleasurable it is to look on the 'net' to see what is going on without the threat of being sued for copyright.

A real professionaly organised event.

Air show today was fantastic. I really enjoy volunteering for this event, once again a professional organisation a lot of work and long day put in by everyone for a first class event. Now putting up my tired legs with a cuppa.

A great day up on Smugglers Hill (not sure if an apostrophe's needed there lol). Well done to the Airshow committee, the many marshals, everyone who donated, and of course to all of the wonderful pilots and their support crew.

If only the Carnival had one tenth of the essence of the Airshow...

Why is it that only Mrs C has to insert a nasty comment? The other posts were a pleasure to read and I agree, what a fantastic day it has been for Dawlish and one we should all be proud to be part of.

Apostrophes! No need for such a comment in what had been a celebration of a great two days for Dawlish. Only you could do that!

And why do you assume that because someone is posting at 22.55 that they have been drinking, do you base this assumption on your own behaviour?

I can't see anything nasty about Judith Chalmers post, there's plenty about the Carnival Committee on the other thread that Margaret Swift hasn't jumped on.   But now this very positive thread had been hijacked and given over to her feud with JC.  Just let it lie or take it to private messaging as I don't want to read it.

She's clearly in denial...

Everyone else has a go at me, so why can't I be self-deprecating about my own lack of knowledge as to whether or not I needed to use an apostrophe?  Well hijacked Maggie, I bet you're proud of yourself.

She's a bloody drama queen who yet again fails to understand what people are saying - either through ignorance or because of her familial bullying gene.

We all know the intention of your comment regarding the apostrophe; you are the one who needs to let it lie but apparently can't.

I don't think I've ever seen so many cars parked or such a tailback at the end. Surely this must have been a record breaking attendance. Hope they managed to raise lots of money for next year.

Jesus Christ Maggie, not everything is about you!!!  I was gently taking the mickey out of myself as it was my punctuation skills that were first called into question!!

And now I can't believe I'm arguing about whether my punctuation is worse than hers - the world's gone mad!

Well said Flo. Smugglers Hill was the busiest I'd ever seen it. Everyone had a great time.

flo I hope people did donate, where I was sat the collector was having a hard job to get anything put in her bucket, people were ignoring her. Bloody ignorance

I know carer go anywhere else and it would cost at least 20-30pounds for Airshow, and PIP would be a tenner apiece, cant understand the meanest of people, if every adult paid a fiver each yesterday just imagine what the fund would be

The air show and the organisation was fantastic, all the volunteers were friendly and helpful and I'm sure all the visitors left with a great impression of Dawlish. To have 80-100 000 people here was amazing and the weather was great.

I was disappointed to see that a couple of areas were roped off by the pirates chest kiosk though. There was a seated area that had been roped off which prevented access to the steps down to the beach and at the bottom of these steps again it was roped off. Was it  official 'roping' off?  as it seemed to be very loose and had been pulled down after a while.

The Red Arrows were superb but the 2 Lancasters topped them and left a real lump in the throat!

I wonder who was responsible for organizing the parking in the field along the Warren Road?

@Piratekev no that rope was not official, that caused problems for the marshals.

Well if it was pulled down then it would seem that those who were responsible for putting it there in the first place, and for whatever reason(s), were thwarted.

(I've just laid a little bet with myself as to who would have put it there and why - but can anyone who knows for definite tell the rest of us?)

A huge Well Done to everyone involved in the organisation of the Dawlish Airshow.

We had a lovely time sat watching a large part of this from the Warren, due to the huge traffic jam from Chudleigh but after driving around for a while we managed to find 2 parking spaces.

We chose to jump on the train into Dawlish after the Red Arrows display and had a lovely time there too.

After looking at the ques to get a train back to the Warren we opted to walk and had the most amazing views of the Spitfires and Lancaster Bombers.

My only problem with the whole day was that I could not get into Sticky Fingers to get an ice-cream but I can always visit again to get one.
