General Discussion

@Lynne Is this the core consultation mentioned here? http://www.peoplesrepublicofsouthdevon.co.uk/2011/11/09/teignbridge-core-strategy-consultation-delayed/

I don't think everyone who is concerned about the housing is a NIMBY. I would love more housing to be built but I think affordable housing is the type that is really needed; both to buy and to rent and that is where my issue is. Unfortunately even so called "affordable housing" isn't affordable to a lot of young locals and I just don't know what the answer is.

I understand some people have been able to cancel their contract with 3 and transfer their numbers elsewhere due to the problems and the low probability of it getting sorted. We have O2 and Vodafone, both with good service in Dawlish, even indoors.

A few people have said that now, must go and try it as I haven't been there in years.

It says at the bottom of the article For people that cannot attend the consultation, copies of the drawings along with an opportunity to provide feedback will be left in the local library. In addition, the drawings and information will be available at http://www.devon.gov.uk/dawlishstrand I can't see anything on the site yet, unless I'm being particularly thick! Opening hours at the library ...

I'd be interested to know what shops were in Dawlish in the 1950s - anyone remember or have any photos/postcards?

Not what you were looking for but if you have a spare £2.4m http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-property-for-sale/property-19835310.html

Was there another vehicle involved, if so I hope they are okay. Fingers crossed they can trace the driver from the abandoned car's details.

I've lived in two parts of Dawlish now where play parks were promised as part of the development and neither were built. I don't believe any promises about facilities I'm afraid.
