General Discussion

@Steve , you're just telling me what you believe without anything to substantiate your claims. It goes around in circles. If the left dominate the media Galloway would have the exposure Farage has and Corbyn would still be leader of Labour. It's only left to someone who's positioned pretty far to the right. Farage and UKIP/Reform wouldn't have stood aside in two elections for the Tories to ...

If anyone honestly believes the left dominates mainstream politics, then explain what exactly is so left wing about the Tories, Labour and the Lib Dems. It's all very well saying they're left over and over without substantiating it. The BBC is largely run by ex Oxford and Cambridge Uni Tories, hardly left wing. Sky is owned by Murdoch, he's well on the right. The Tory party has problems with ...

If Reform UK isn't far-right where is it on the political spectrum? Nothing to do with labels. Reform and UKIP before have always been further to the right than the Tories and even the Tory right wing. If the establishment and it's parties were so leftist how come the media has always given far more coverage to Farage than any leftist party of a comparable size. Farage as Leader of UKIP and now ...

The only hustings of the general election took place at Teignmouth Community School. It's great that pupils are encouraged to take an interest in politics... But why has there been no hustings for those of us 18 and over, i.e. actual voters? Pretty shocking that the electorate is unable to ask questions and scrutinize candidates. Let's hope these teenagers don't expect to attend hustings once ...

YELLOW AND BLUE : UNITED IN INEPTITUDE CONSERVATIVES used to be about supporting small business, protecting our ancient landscapes and standing up for individual freedoms – yet for the past eight years our MP has done no such thing, with a voting record that’s often eccentric and consistently hostile to the common interest. LIB DEMS should be concerned with increasing ...

haha - I don't disagree with quite a bit of what you write. Except I don't see what you call big government and I call neoliberalism being anything to do with socialism. Our politicians are puppets with billionaire media moguls, multinational corporate interest and the establishment, so old boys networks linked to Harrow, Eton Oxbridge unis, the aristocracy and monarchy as well as foreign ...

@Steve , you misunderstand. Brexit happened because Cameron made the EU referendum a manifesto promise that for once the Tories couldn't break for fear of Farage and the then UKIP. That's how it came about, because the Tories moved to the right. I wasn't questioning the actual vote. I hope that clarifies it. And indeed Corbyn and McDonald were critical of the EU project, which they saw as ...

@Steve Braverman is not left of centre, neither is Truss, Rees Mogg, Johnson, Sunak - Brexit happened because the Tories shifted even further to the right. The Cons have never been left of centre. Lib Dem policies are clearly right of centre, plus they went into coalition with the Tories in 2010 - 2015 which is hardly a leftist move. Anything leftist in Labour was purged after Corbyn was kicked ...
