Sunbernt arms

Ah! that's where the auctions will take place - The Sunburnt Arms. I wondered where it would be. Anyone have anymore info about these auctions? There was a flyer inside The Dawlish Directory that came through the letter box last week. Half page advert saying that The Auction Rooms are coming soon to Dawlish Warren and to phone Scott on 07870 656271 for more info. Which, so far, I haven't done. Has ...

Thursday 17th November. 6.30pm at Forde House, N. Abb. Simon Thornley, TDC's Service Lead for Spatial Planning and Delivery and Naomi Harnett, TDC's officer responsible for the district's town centres and economic development, will be giving a talk on Localism in Action. Anyone going from Dawlish?

Re the (now delayed) Preferred Options Core Strategy. Note this concerning affordable housing (from The Teignmouth News 9.11.11) "Urban development sites with more than four homes will need to include affordable housing- the current figure is 15. In rural areas, the threshold will be even lower - just two. To discourage land hoarding, the council says it may resort to compulsory purchase of land, ...

See page 3 of this weekend's (Friday 11th) Dawlish Post for more info regarding the delay and the core strategy. "Strategy Plans Put On Hold"

The reason I mooted the idea of a children's playpark was that it might be one way of getting people into the town - both residents and tourists. I well remember when my daughter was small one of the first things we did when we went on ...

I was in Teignmouth yesterday. Why? Because the facility I needed (building society) is no longer available in Dawlish. So whilst I was there I also did some shopping in the shops that we just don't have in Dawlish - Peacocks, Superdrug, WH Smith and the like. Oh and I noticed that where Woolies used to be that then became a carpet shop (Carperright?) is now to become a M&Co outlet (one of my ...

@flo and neilh just gone onto the link that flo gave. Didn't know about that. Thanks for that info. Wonder what this 'decision' is that is causing the delay? Social housing issue. No idea how it will be resolved given the present way it is produced - ie private developer has to produce a certain percentage (30% in Teignbridge I believe it is) if they build more than a certain number of new ...

@neilh I believe the latest plans for Dawlish concerning housing is that 900 will be aimed for (plus those already in the pipeline - 251 at Gatehouse Farm/Secmaton Lane plus the 124 on the adjoining field at Secmaton Rise). So total of just under 1300 instead of 2,000. Have been told that this figure will be reviewed in 2018. However , things still in draft stage and quite likely will be ...

This flood plain business. Would it stop, for example, a children's playpark being located on the lawn?
