Don't have a problem with more social housing being provided. It's needed. I have a problem with the fact that presently much of it is only provided via developers being told that they have to provide some if they wish to build open market housing (which may or may not be needed). And the social housing problem in the 80s was aggrevated, then as now, by the Right to Buy legislation.......... ...
An example of people hearing things that have not been said. Many moons ago now I worked as a housing assessment officer for a town council. Part of my job was to interview those wishing to go on the housing waiting list and to assess their need. I learnt very early on not to say anything about how long it might take before we could house them or when they should check again to see the ...
Am I right in thinking that the shopper bus, although it presently travels along the Strand, does not stop anywhere along it? If so, can someone who knows please tell me the nearest places it presently stops at nearest to The Strand. I know it stops at the viaduct. Anywhere else?
DARE will be holding Public Meetings about the above on: 8 Feb St Mary's Hall Dawlish Warren @ 7.30pm , The Manor House 16 Feb at 7.30pm , Cofton Village Hall, 21 Feb at 7.30pm and holding a "drop in" morning at URC the Strand 18 Feb at 10.00am - 1.00pm. Please let others know.
Nelson, as I have told you before - I am not your 'dear'.
How would Teignbridge know that? From the 2011 Census? Are the figures available yet?
Oddly enough the fact that relatively few buses will be going along the Strand is what makes it, in my opinion, even more dangerous. Because it will not be a relatively frequent occurence it will mean that their hourly presence will not register in people's minds - if it registers at all. A pedestrianised area that has a bus running along it (albeit hourly) is not, I feel, a safe area at all. ...
I've kept quiet on this issue until now (most unusual for me I admit) but given that the above is what has been recommended may I express my concern that the local shopper bus will still be travelling along the Strand during its 'pedestrianised' time. By definition it isn't a pedestrianised area if vehicles are allowed access. Emergency vehicles are different as they can make a lot of noise to ...
Why not submit it as an idea to TDC? This link should help you do that. http://www.dawlish.com/forum/item.aspx?id=20342
