@Mrs C - from your above comment are you implying that the car park would be free to park in? I think not. How would you control the number of vehicles parking there and not using waitrose to shop in? It is probable that the car park will be pay and display and with a minimum spend of £10 to get free parking for the 1 1/2 hour limit. I may be wrong, but it certainly won't be free.

A week or so ago there was a traders meeting in Teignmouth. At the meeting were 2 representatives from Waitrose. One of them advised that the car park at the site will no longer be a Teignbridge council car park, but Waitrose. Also the parking time will be dropped from 2 hours to 1 1/2 hours.
