There is a meeting of TDC Executive Cllrs on 2nd November. On the agenda are proposed sites for wind turbines. The land north of Langdon Road, Dawlish is one of the proposed sites. This is what is written about the site: Wind Site 6 – North of Langdon Road, Dawlish Ref: WS6 Address: North of Langdon Road, Dawlish Parish: Dawlish Size: 18ha Description The site lies to the north of ...
I'm not sore, as you put it, about the Warren Farm issue. It saddens me, yes. But I am not angry about it. Was it duplicity on the part of the landowner at the time when so many of us were trying to defend his ownership of his land, or did he subsequently change his mind about what he wanted to happen to his farm? I guess the only person who would know the answer to that is the landowner. ...
Did you miss the question mark? If things aren't stated explicitly then all sorts of things can be implied. Fully aware of the difference between planners (officers of the council) and councillors (members of the council) thank you very much. Suggest anyone wanting to know if planners visited the site or not to contact either the planning department at TDC or one of the local district ...
This is policy WE8. I suspect it is WE8 c iii (that I've highlighted in red that is the basis of the objection) WE8 Domestic Extensions, Ancillary Domestic Curtilage Buildings and Boundary Treatments To ensure existing dwellings can be adapted and improved while complementing the character of existing residential areas and protecting the living conditions of neighbours, minor ...
I've just listened to the podcast again just in case there was an answer to your question - but there was none. The person who would know though is Cllr John Petherick. He attended this meeting (via zoom) arguing for a site visit by Cllrs. He made the point that Dawlish Town Council planning committee members had visited the site and he himself had also done so - twice. So was he implying that ...
Decision deferred. A site visit by TDC planning committee members needs to take place before any decision gets made.

I'll tell you what I think. Which is - that if that playing field were to be given the go ahead to be developed for housing, then the knock on effect would be to enhance any arguments that all other land put up for development in the immediate area should also be given the go ahead. That would mean, for example, most of the (presently) open fields immediately adjacent to the Countryside Park ...
Just done a quick check. The only TDC owned land that I can find along Orchard Lane is the children's playground (but it's not that site - see above quote from Cllr Wrigley) and a playing field a bit further up. Is it the playing field? Also checked the land put forward for consideration for development along Orchard Lane. And yes, the playing field is there. So I guess the site of the playing ...
Orchard Lane runs off the A379 at St Mary's Cottages and up the hill with the Dawlish Countryside Park to its south. In the recent Local Plan Review, showing land being considered for development, there was/is a fair chunk of land running up the hill on the country park side of Orchard Lane being considered. On the other side of the lane, and further up, land comprising Amity Farm was/is under ...
