Yep 'One Stop' is TESCO. Reckon people would have liked a big Tesco on the lawn with parking on the roof ..can imagine seats around the edge...sit looking down on the ducks! lol ..
Davidsons was a 'proper' shop with good names like Lego and Playmobil and a very good range of puzzles. 'Bits and Bobs' seemed to go the route as the name suggests and so its to close. At the end of the day you cant survive on just the summer trade...that's why an empty shop has to become a charity shop...they know people will use them.
Then leave the town exactly as it is now...
lol
What is the difference between a lorry / coach as now going down the High Street turning left into Queen Street from going up Queen Street and turning right into the High Street? Country bus used Pointer Darts longer vehicles on the town bus and negotiated the Brumswick turn to serve the Surgery and up Queen Street. On Carnival days very long wagons / trucks are expected to make all these bends ...
All good Lynne ..hope they get moving on it and Dawlish can then catch up to the standard of other towns. Would have plenty of comments had it been about Council spending lol.
Overheard a girl of 17 proudly saying to her mate she was pregnant and when she left school she had no qualifications at all and she couldnt get a job. It doesnt matter though she said. I get benefits. I noticed a top of the range mobile in her hand. How things have changed!.. at least she can do something lol. Everyone seems to have the best of 'everything' yet so many moan about the state the ...
I know where it goes! If the High Street is reversed..it will avoid the Strand, so from Park Road straight into High Street (no bends or congestion at cost cutter) and down to the seafront and back up Exeter Road. as said before it does not stop in the Strand anyway, pick ups as noe at main bus stops..No problem.
Lynne..there is not an official stop in The Strand, though it has been seem to drop people off. The stops are at the Viaduct and eastbound at the shelter stop. If the traffic is reversed down the High Street it would no serve the Strand anyway. Route as now via Brumswick towards the Surgery.
Lynne ..suggest to DCC Transport dept that is serves the High Street and not The Strand that would be no problem, I cant see though how it could stop on the sharp bend at the Strand so people would need to walk from the seafront stops. That would be ok as bus people do walk, its car drivers that cant lol.
