Just thought I'd take a look at what 'affordable' properties there are available at the moment on the new build estates in the town and I came across this. Thought I would post it in case anyone knows anyone who might be interested. http://www.smartnewhomes.com/new-homes/property/dawlish/

Where's the insinuation? MS stated that she had received an e-mail from another councillor in which that councillor spoke negatively of those of us who post on here. Are you sitting down Burneside? Hope so 'cos.........I agree with you (and I bet that's the first time that's happened!).

On the other hand of course there are those who do appreciate Margaret's candour. An independent councillor (she posted on here recently that she resigned from the Voices for Dawlish group earlier this year) who speaks as she finds, who has no party allegiance and who doesn't necessarily conform to the 'rules'. A free spirit. Keep up the good work Margaret.

Margaret - this councillor who wrote the e-mail. Do you know if s/he ever reads this forum or is her/his opinion based on hearsay? Also, was the e-mail sent just to you or was it a round robin to all the town councillors? Just curious.

I've just looked up the Ofsted report in question (it's online - just type in Payhembury Primary Ofsted report and you'll find it). Can't see anywhere that it says the school is 'too white' although it does say that it draws from a white rural community. Which it does. Matter of fact. One of the recommendations for improvement in the school is for an awareness of cultures other than the one ...

Sometime back we had a discussion on here about a sculpture or something similar being in Dawlish as a tourist attraction. I think it was the arrival of 'Verity' in Ilfracombe that sparked off that debate. Since that time we have had other discussion concerning a piece of art commemorating the storms last winter and the effect they had on the railway. I have just received the minutes of the ...

And if a DAL were to be an option then that particular option might need to be thought about seriously now as there is an awful lot of house building that is due to take place in Dawlish and the route of the DAL and the location of that new house building could be ever so, ever so, close. Wouldn't want 'em building new houses only for those houses to have to be demolished in order for a DAL ...

The letter then goes on to say this with regard to alternative/additional inland routes; "We have also launched a wider study looking at the impact of the resilience issues of the route between Exeter and Plymouth. This study will provide an early indication of the viability of additional/alternative route alignments (including Tavistock) and this, combined with inputs from the study referenced ...

Okay this is the relevant bit from the letter. "With respect to the future improvement in resilience of the railway between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot my Route Assessment Team is currently commisioning a major Engineering Feasibility Study. This study has been initiated by the Route to assess a series of options to increase the Geo-Environmental Resilience between Exeter St Davids and ...

@Clive - I have a copy of a letter dated 1st april sent to our MP from Network Rail. In the letter NR outline the works and investigations they will be doing with regard to improving the resilience of the railway between Exeter St.Davids and Newton Abbot. NR say the study will take about 18 months to complete. 18 months - long time. Do I take it you were, or are, a civil engineer? From ...
