Okay so the plants may need dead heading, watering and some tlc but if like me you want/need instant colour in your garden then perhaps you might want to pay a visit. Just got myself two hanging baskets for £15.00 (were £15.00 each) and now having come back and taken stock of what else the garden could be doing with I'm off out there again. Open today (Sunday) Closed Monday and Tuesday.
On this issue of repainting old furniture in order to bring it up to date............. Take a look inside The Snooky Trust. I was in there today. Up by the counter is a glass cabinet (Edwardian type style/age - I know because we have an almost identical one in our garage). It has been repainted and looks, I think, stunning. Blimey looking at that picture Ziggy I can see sellable 'rubbish' just jumping out at me screaming to be upcycled (and I so hope it was and not just broken up). I can see three bikes, some garden chairs, a bedside cabinet (could always be repainted to make it more fashionable) and a couple of small tables. Yep - we are now one old mattress, one defunct lawn mower, and one broken microwave lighter 'n all. Many thanks (and just goes to show how much a local tip service is needed?). People down there seeing what's being discarded? Personally I don't have a problem with that after all one person's rubbish is another person's "that's just what I've been looking for" and if any of it is sold off ...
