Just to point out that having checked through the planning docs it seems that all the new housing on this particular site will be just that - houses. No bungalows, no flats and no lifetime housing. So if you are a wheel chair user/have walking difficulties/respiratory issues etc which make using stairs a big No No, will there be anything built to suit your needs? And the answer ...

The breakdown of the 190 homes to be built is as follows; 168 -open market 22 - affordable housing The affordable housing to be provided is as follows; 7 x 3 bed 9 x 2 bed 6 x 1 bed The above affordable housing (AH) should be a mix of 15 units for affordable rent and 7 for shared ownership.
The go ahead has now been given (with various provisos) for the 190 homes to be built. However, from reading the planning documentation it appears that the 64 bed care home and the employment land were not included in this planning permission and will thus be subject to separate planning applications - sometime in the future.

@HuwMatthews2 - suggest the site at Langdon where the 64 bed care home is supposed to be built. Why? Because I think a cathedral has more chance of being built there than any care home.

Been told that Dawlish town council pay for this service and intend continuing to do so.
Another short sighted idea from this council as it mentions more risk from fly tipping which will probably cost more to uplift than having thr rural skip. Perhaps the costs could be covered if they grow some and prosecute the travellers who leave rubbish with the tax payer picking up the bill.
