Surely the fact that its not self financing means that enforcement works?! Or would you prefer to see an extra £600K a year in fines for illegal parking? Imagine the uproar if enforcement made a profit - "Motorists Subsidise Council Fatcats Biscuits". or similar Daily Mail headline! Short term free parking should definitely be on the agenda though. Although it will need enforcing and will ...
It's £600K on parking enforcement, not on parking per se. Without enforcement, it would be a chaotic free for all - ANARCHY!
@jabdc5 . did you visit the auction during your recent 'break' here?
Did you go into Baileys and ask them? Or did you phone up the bodies you mentioned?
Is there such a thing as 'Friends of Dawlish Station'? Or would that involve people getting off their arses instead of moaning all the time?
'Awesome' on Queen Street has everything that a sk8tr boi (or grrrrl) could wish for. It also sells a wide range of scooters - sorry Ethel, not mobility scooters, but the two-wheeled variety for kids of all ages. A belated welcome to Dawlish.
Google suggestss that the plan was for it to happen this September, so another month won't hurt IMHO. Personally, I quite like the colour of the viaduct. I'm sure there'd be plenty of people whining if it was, for example, peacock blue or some other strong colour instead. Still, this is Dawlish, where a moan's gotta do what a moan's gotta do!
There are letters of complaints in newspapers about this subject up and down the land. Ever since this government slashed local council budgets, verges everywhere have gone months between strims. It's a local issue, but it's a national disgrace.
Why do you think that's another nail in the coffin? And what coffin is this you refer to? Out of interest. Oh, and it wasn't me who snitched - my money's on Dave.
lol yes. when i was laid up in bed I think I read just about every thread lol.
