I hate to burst your bubble. But the old post office is owned by a private company in London and the reason it is still empty, is they want £24,000 a year in rent, that's right, I did say £24,000. Any takers ?

i'm sure it has something to do with the rent and rates sadly the rent is £1750 a month and thats without rates electric or gas! i'd have loved to have rented the place but its such an expense and its a shame that its empty as its a beautiful building with a lot of prospect xx hopefuly someone will rent it soon happy new year to everyone

Oh well, we will either get our supermarket or we wont, if we do get it (wherever it may be), it would be great, but if we dont get it, its not the end of the world either! There are a lot more things that we could be worrying about, and life here in Dawlish will go on as normal, there are more important things in life than a supermarket. On that note, i wish everybody a very happy new year.

I think maybe somebody should have thought of a new road system before we allowed Costcutters, Coop and Boots in that case then. How often do we get caught up in tailbacks, just trying to get through Dawlish town, which are caused by delivery lorries and all the private hire cars which are all illegally or double parked along the main street, also are we going to stop thousands of caravans which ...
