Wappy - good for you going to the Police, too many moan but don't take action. On a light-hearted note though, I for one can't wait to find out who it is!! And am looking at all door wreaths no longer to admire but to potentially catch the offender! It's not me - mine is a blingy looking one still up in the loft.....
Smella, I don't think you'll find 'friends' here. People to have discussions/disagreements definitely, but friends are better found in real life.
Oh, forgot original point! Dawlish needs to change to keep apace of changing shopping and social habits. With more housing being built then more facilities are going to be demanded. Shop and cafe owners need to adapt or they won't survive - e.g. Ten Green Bottles in The Strand, went from an evening dining venue to a 'boutique' gift shop. Or The Ugly Duckling, found a demand for homecooked ...
leatash - but going round town three times then driving to Sainsburys doesn't make economical sense! Surely there was parking somewhere in the town - Brunswick Place, Marine Parade or Barton car park. They can't all have been full on a Wednesday in November! Or was it more likely that you would have had to pay to park somewhere other than in The Strand? Probably a similar amount to the fuel ...
Still just a small amount to give when you look at the billions this country spends on health, education and defence. Let alone what we have to give to the EU. What price could be put on saving a life or rebuilding a village.

I'm told by someone (other half) old enough to remember that it was because there wasn't enough use for two CofE churches in town!
I find it interesting that it is always 'they' who should set things up or do something. Who exactly are 'they'? If people want something done then get on and try to get it done!
