@Barbarawils68 - and see how quickly it gets vandalised, use the play park that already exists..lazy parents.
So instead of people being able to safely enjoy the view of the sea from a bench, they are now sitting on the sea wall itself. I witnessed this only yesterday evening and saw a couple of people with young children holding them on their laps, on the sea wall with a good 9 - 10 feet drop below. Was it really the railway company denying these benches stay along the sea wall?. Considering there ...
So the issue comes back to those WE pay to administer issues that affect Dawlish not seeming to bother, what's new there. I suppose if an opportunity to build an elevated fun park on the front, costing millions, they would get into high gear!
Spending millions on infrastructure to bring Dawlish up to par with other successful tourist locations to attract the tourist, but unable to get funds to spend on essential services - what a croc. Clean the streets and fix all the basics first. There's no point in building fancy things on a poor foundation. Those in charge seem to like wasting millions on non essentials, but find it hard to get ...
@Lynne - i belive they erretced all those stainless steels signposts around the lawn after this document was originally posted. i would have thought that those were visual clutter. as to the play park on the lawn, if parents are to lazy to walk a couple of hundred yards to the current playpark. they certainly should not be rewarded with another play park on the lawn to reward them for their ...
@monty - i was on my way home, some time ago, from work at 02:30hrs and as i came up to the landsdown i was confronted by at least a mob of 20-30 screaming yobs. they seem to be filtering out of the landsdown towards some bloke who was running straight towards me. i made a quick exit to the left in my car and put my foot down. god forbid what might have ensued if i had been walking or on a push ...
@Morty Vicker (15 aug 2016 11:21) feel free to, there's nothing stopping you.
@MV - maybe you could keep you opinions to yourself for a change, just a thought. I don't pay £2k a year in rates just to do the council's work for them. Whilst millions of pounds are spent in the district on non essentials.
Go back many years and Dawlish always had street cleaners making sure that the area was spick and span. Now it's a different story. As I walked through the little green area to the side of the Barton car park I was met with the following images, not what a tourist to the area wants to see. This is certainly not the first time I have seen these images in this area. Also the amount of leaves on ...
@ZIGGY - shame his not still on the council
