RECIPE INDIAN - mango lassi

lassi is a drink similar to a thick shake

this one is my favourite, but can be made with most soft fruits. I prefer them with a fruit that has a sharpness to them. Tinned is quick and easy, but peeled chopped fresh fruit could also be used of course 

the yoghurt is a great way of cooling down your mouth or throat if there is too much chilli in a dish. Never try and cool down using beer or water etc, as this can just inflame things as it reacts with the chemical in the chillies (  ) and just makes things worse


 

yoghurt - plain greek style 500 ml
tinned mango slices 1 tin
honey 1 tbs
ice cubes  3 pc
  1. place all ingredients in a liquidisor and blend to a puree
  2. serve

chef notes

if preferred, the honey can be omitted and lime juice added

could also be made with other tinned fruit such as peaches, apricots etc
