Thanks BEE9, some good indicators of what would provide reliable evidence and, as I am not working in June, I will have the time to get round the traders for their  feedback. The amount of money spent on this event sticks in my throat too!

Willowsindawlish is absolutely right. Many councillors wanted bright colours for the bridges but Mr Bland apparently vetoed any such frivolity!

If you do park and intend to use the shuttle bus service then leave plenty of time. I have waited ages for the bus and have come close to missing my check-in on internal flights.
