I agree, the customer service is awful there. They always keep you waiting for ages to get served and it is frustrating and irritating. The last time I went there, the lady behind the counter was on the phone to someone for quite some time when eventually another member of staff turned up. However, he just looked around and then walked off.
All good ideas. So perhaps we could have boulder islands in the sea like at Sidmouth and a sea wall like the curved one at Teignmouth but taller and flood gates at the viaduct. If the railway was re-routed in land, Dawlish would be in serious difficulties. We can't even afford to run a few public toilets. There are supposed to be rail replacement buses, however they are very few and far between. Best not to chance it anyway as you could get stuck.
Not sure what your point is, but I'm all for helping people in genuine need. What I can't stand is the people who choose not to work and also are not able to support themselves. It doesn't matter if it costs the tax payer £10B or £1 it is still wrong.
Yep I can't stand the tax payers money going on people who choose not to work. As for aid for people being persecuted, we should do as much as we can.

Definition of charity - the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need. Charity begins at home - what a sad and pathetic statement. Several people on this forum are always on about the need for social housing, pay rises and benefits. I'm just glad most people aren't so self-centred.
