When it used to be Sharifs (not sure of spelling) the pizzas were one of the best around, especially the chilli meat ones. I don't know where you get a decent pizza anymore. Also, I wish they would stop this stupid bogof malarkey and just charge a sensible price in the first place. I was caught out by a bogof in Exeter and paid double what I should have. I had gone to pick them up for my ...

According to the Duck Warden the seagulls have taken 17 black swan eggs to date so far this spring and despite various TV and newspaper reports no one seems to care. I don't understand why seagulls are protected and black swans are not. Seagulls are a pest here in the Dawlish and probably so in most of the UK. Black swans are very rare in the UK and should have a higher protected status than ...

Just out of interest, why must it have a garage? There aren't many 2 bedroom properties with garages.

Seagulls

Hopefully the prat that shot the seagull will get his comeuppance. It has to be a 'he' as I have yet to meet a woman who has the slightest interest in rifles and guns, but I could be wrong. However, I don't think the answer to the seagull problem is to allow idots to shoot them for fun. In fact I would have thought that would illegal under animal cruelty law. I think the answer is to ensure ...

Affordable Homes

I see, rather than pay £600 a month on a mortgage for a full house you pay £750 a month for half a house. That somehow makes it affordable? I wouldn't touch these with a barge-pole if I was a first time buyer. Australia's housing bubble has finally popped which means it is only the UK's left, so I would advise waiting to all first time buyers. Also, anyone who buys at the Warren is risking it ...

Smokey you are right about these prefabs still being around. I have seen them on Rightmove in parts of England. I think Wiltshire but can't be sure off hand. The problem is not the cost of building houses but the cost of land marked for residential purposes. This is completely under the control of government along with the bank of England base rate. Having bailed out the banks, which effectively ...

@ninja4thDan . i agree with everyone here condemning the theft. the loss to the victim is always greater than any gain made by the perpetrator. however, i would check your home insurance or your parents as you may be able to make a claim. Also report it to the police if you haven't. I know there is little chance of them pursuing it but they may do a drugs raid and find it accidentally.

Smokey, we definitely need an alternative to the current system and I think a good place to start is to abolish it and see what happens and what needs to be done even if it means getting the army in to set up temporary accommodation for those affected. In fact, those affected that are capable of working can help the army put up the accommodation. It would also be against the law for any landlord, ...

I don't think your family members would be homeless. They would have to be evicted first. However, having six members of your family on housing benefits kind of shows what a mess we are in with this benefit. Removing housing benefit today would cause a severe headache for the borrow-to-let speculators and hence the banks. It would save the tax payer £20 billion a year though. Yes it would cause ...
