According to the today's Gazette four staff were close to walking out after not receiving their pay. Hmmmm, well I doubt that the Waterfowl Warden or the rest of the Town Council staff will be round long enough to do it - unless the new DTC get their act in gear and pay them properly. (Dawlish Gazette) I would be surprised if volunteers would be welcomed - nobody in the Council offices to do a risk assessment or ensure the insurance is in place.

I agree about the non-issuing of polling cards. I think that was shortsighted of the council. There always money somewhere that can be jiggled about to pay for polling cards. I think that it'll be a poor turnout. Candidates are definately going to have to put literature out for this one!

It was £25k a couple of years ago - they had extra from the sale of Exeter Airport. I think it's great that Cllrs can target local groups/projects that need help without the groups having to jump through hoops to get the money. District Cllrs have an allowance too - I think £1500 (from memory).
