Thank you Lynne for making the link easier for others.  I just wanted to point out that the deal is not done and dusted as the Council are trying to portray, they have to go back to the landowners/developers and broker a deal which makes the sites viable.  You can see that there are issues on viability since Langdon is still for sale on KLP Planning's website.  This site was offered just after it ...

Who says the developers will not pay?  If you read the Infrastructure Fund document it clearly states that Council's are given the money and they don't have to pay it back to the government.  The money becomes TDCs and they can pay for the bridge and the road in Area 3, which is not to say they will not claim the whole lot back once the development is built.  The Government points out that every ...

At least Dawlish Town Council is 8 Conservatives and 8 others, so decisions will not be a done deal and will be decided through discussion and not by towing the party line. The below was copied from the updated councillors page at TDC showing the political composition now with Cllr Wrigley on the list: Council composition The council consists of 46 Councillors who represent 25 ...

Bastins
2 Feb 2018

It is no joke, Bastins has been one of the best known shops in Dawlish.  Let us look at why Dawlish is on its knees and it is not just Sainsbury's which is the problem.  If I had my way I would dig up that useless wide path beside the lawn and put it back as parking, we must have lost around 20 parking spaces at least.  In the middle of the long wall, now gone, was an access point into the park ...

What a great idea to adopt a phone box

Maybe the boxes could be saved and used as artwork/decoration around the town to add to the character of the place.  They could be locked shut and used as notice board with adverts in the windows, so many things, but it would be a shame to lose them.  Lots have gone abroad I believe, so if not that expensive, if we can afford to purchase them as a community, then I think we should.  There is some ...

I do not agree monty.  I believe that Victorian or old buildings which are not now up to standard are better off sold for residential development. An example is the extra care home of Daw Vale, which like many building will be expensive to deal with due to asbestos. For a residential developer the up lift in value of the land makes it viable, but for redevelopment it would not.  Therefore, it is ...

The TDC website show the application has now been completed and decision notice issued. The Section 106 documents are there and access plan for the main residential site. Link below http://gis.teignbridge.gov.uk/TeignbridgePlanningOnline/Results.aspx?Type=Application&Refval=15/02700/MAJ

I found this by chance on primelocation.com and this is the firm selling the land. Kitchener Land and Planning offers invited. http://www.klp.land/land/18

There is less chance of a play park being vandalised if it can be seen from multiple houses, see the below: http://www.playengland.org.uk/media/70684/design-for-play.pdf 4. Choose a location with informal oversight The degree to which the play area needs to be overlooked will depend on the individual site but in general play provision is best placed close to other facilities where there ...
